Hey everyone! I've been MIA on the social media/blog side for the last few months, my apologies! But... a lot of fun things have happened over the summer - we sold our house and landed ourselves on a few acres up the road. It's beautiful, I'll share more photos on social media soon... we definitely plan to have a big garden this summer and Noah and I are trying to convince Scott to get some chickens too! From the Mission side, a few of my clients are absolutely CRUSHING it! Down 14 lbs, down 2 pant sizes, have developed great habits with intuitive eating (realizing when you're becoming full and stopping before you get to that point that you have over eaten), have made consistent workouts a part of their weekly routines!
For me personally, I've felt a little off track. The craziness of the move, not having a kitchen for over a month and the "busyness" of life caught up to me a bit and I felt old habits creeping back in - not getting my morning workouts in as consistently, not being as mindful of my food, drinking more alcohol, and just as I should have expected, the weight loss HAULTED. In my mind I said, January 2023 I'll get back at it... Wait... WHAT?! There are 26 days left of this month, that I was willing to let go down the drain and take me further away from my goals. Nope, this is not going to happen this time! I don't have to wait until MONDAY or NEXT MONTH... I can get back on track right now, in this next minute, with my next meal, with my next work out and that's EXACTLY what I did today! I had a kick butt work out this morning at 5:30 am with some of the best people on this planet at my gym Clarkston Fitness, I had a healthy breakfast, I took a 3 mile walk with the dog and I'm not going to lie, I am proud of myself. I'm not waiting until January, my health and goals need me to show up right now and that's what I am going to do!
So... don't wait until January... I know we all have holiday parties and gatherings and social events over the month of December, but in the BIG PICTURE that's maybe 5-10 meals over the 78 meals that you're going to eat during this month... there's no reason you can't start now or can't start to put just a few GOOD HABITS into your routine now, that way when you are ready to dive in to improve your health you already have a head start. Here's just a few things you could do... aim for 2 liters or 64 oz of water a day, get 10,000 steps in, use the Mindfulness app on your watch that works on breath work our guided meditation or even just with ONE of your meals a day have 1/2 a plate of veggies, 1/4 plate of protein and 1/4 plate of whole grains - this meal will set you up to feel full for HOURS after you eat!
